Honest about AI: disclosure and limits

Your guests always know who they are talking to, and a human always has the final say.

Updated: 31 August 2026

Clear disclosure

Every HostUpp position introduces itself to guests as an AI assistant: on the phone at the start of the call, and with a visible label in chat and in emails. Since 2 August 2026, the EU AI Act (Art. 50(1)) has required that people are told when they are talking to an AI. We would have done it this way even without the law, because deception is no foundation for hospitality. In the portal, too, every action carries the label of the AI staff member who carried it out.

Limits are intentional

The position answers from your property's knowledge base instead of guessing. If it does not know something or a situation gets delicate, it hands over to your team: by phone according to your escalation rules, or as a documented task with the complete history. Critical actions wait in the approval gate for a human.

What this means for you

You can read back every answer and every action, and you can tighten or loosen the permissions at any time. At HostUpp, trust is not built on promises but on control.
